10 Things I Love About Christmas

Hello, friends! This year went by so fast; it's amazing! Thanksgiving is just around the corner for those of us who celebrate it. Are you as excited as I am about all the celebration? I'm looking forward to all the "chrismassy" things we'll start to see. As a matter of fact, some malls are already decked out in Christmas decorations!

Christmas is a lot of things to a lot of people. I think it's the most cheerful time of year. Here, I list the 10 things I like most about Christmas. They're not in any order.

#1 Christmas songs

I especially love Taylor Swift's Christmas album. I cannot wait until Thanksgiving because that's when my local radio station will play Christmas songs and only Christmas songs. What are some of your favorite Christmas songs?

#2 Christmas movies

When I think of Christmas, I think of this movie. It is my absolute favorite movie along with Home Alone 1 & 2, The Santa Clause and many others. Christmas movies put me in the spirit of Christmas!

#3 Shopping for gifts

I love giving gifts more than receiving. I'm being honest! As much as I love getting gifts, I love seeing the smiles on people's faces more! That just gives me a very nice warm feeling.

#4 Christmas trees

This Christmas tree is in New York City at the Rockefeller Center. It's absolutely breathtaking in person. I think this is my favorite Christmas tree along with the one in Paris at Galeries Lafayette.

#5 Decorating

I love decking my house out with Christmas lights and Chrismassy things. I think it's something I enjoy doing a lot. It just gives me joy to see the final result and it helps with the Christmas spirit. Do you love decorating?

#6 Snow

It isn't Christmas without snow. I love it when it snows; it's like being in a winter wonderland! Every year I try to make a snowman but I always fail. I have to resort to making snow angels instead.

#7 Baking gingerbread people & houses

I think this is my most favorite thing about Christmas. I love to bake. Making gingerbread people and gingerbread houses is so much fun! I am actually going to make a gingerbread house with my little niece this weekend. It will be her first one and she is very excited!

#8 Hot cocoa with marshmallows

Hot cocoa is great anytime of the year, but for some reason it tastes so much better during Christmas time. I love the addition of the roasted marshmallows on top. I can't wait to have my first cup this season!

#9 Candy canes

I don't know about you, but I personally adore candy canes. It's like candy corn during Halloween; it just isn't Halloween without candy corn. It isn't Christmas without candy canes! When I was younger I used to tape these candy canes to the envelopes of the christmas cards that I gave out. It was very much appreciated by those people, I think. Not only do they taste yummy, they are great for decorations!

#10 Spending time with the family

I enjoy this quite a bit. The holidays truly bring family closer together. Every Christmas Eve my family goes to church and then we go to my grandma's house. Her house always smells amazing with food. All my uncles, aunts and cousins come too so the Christmas tree is always overflowing with gifts. It just an amazing time!

What are your favorite things about Christmas? Do you celebrate it?
